Marketing Advice for Schools

Helping your school to promote itself

If you are launching a new academy or school, or you are wondering how to get more students, or why you are losing students at sixth form, then we can help you.

We work with you to identify what differentiates your school, and how you can get that across to parents and students. From open evenings and open days, to getting effective press coverage, from creating prospectuses and brochures, to using social media, we help you to build your school’s reputation.

Changes to state school funding and the introduction of academies and free schools, mean that many schools are having to promote themselves more effectively, without local authority support.

Marketing the Sixth Form has become increasingly important for schools, as students are often attracted by the perceived freedom offered by other institutions. We can help you increase the numbers of students staying on after Year 11, and attract new students from other schools post-16.

Marketing mentoring helps you to focus on your marketing. An outside, independent view point helps to give a different perspective, new approaches, and a clear focus on the actions needed to improve your school’s reputation.

“Beryl’s training for social media marketing for schools was really helpful in embedding our knowledge around how to use social media effectively. She was incredibly patient and pitched her training just right so it was accessible to everyone.”

Julie Nash, Cluster Finance and Administration Manager, St Matthias Primary School

“This is a fab course specifically on school social media marketing – really, really recommend. It is reasonably priced with very useful practical advice.”

Suzanne Barber, Communications Officer, HInchley Wood School

“Fantastic course on Social Media Marketing. I found out all the things I should be doing and wasn’t to make our school stand out in Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Insights into how to use the data as well as various ideas as to how to use images and video. Very interesting!”

Maranda Scarff, Orchard Manor School

“Thank you very much for yesterday’s course. I found it enormously helpful and feel that my knowledge of how to use the various social media platforms that we covered has been hugely boosted.”

Debbie George, Tunbridge Wells Girls’ Grammar School

“I really enjoyed the whole day. I feel much more confident about using social media to promote out Trust and I have come away with loads of ideas – I can’t wait to get going! Thank you so much Beryl.”

Ali Broadhurst, PA to the CEO, The Aspire Educational Trust

“Beryl has delivered an extremely interesting workshop on Social media Marketing for Schools. She is very knowledgeable and the information and tools she made us aware of are really useful and they will be applied during the development of our social media platforms.”

Charoula Blackwood, St Michael’s Catholic School

“Beryl was very informative and extremely helpful in our recent marketing training. The structure of the days were well planned and she has helped my understanding of marketing, particularly in social media. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.”

Kelly Noble, Knole Academy, Sevenoaks

“Beryl was very patient and knowledgeable. She had clearly taken the time to research our Trust and had a good understanding of us and what we were aiming to achieve – she was then able to tailor the training to suit this. Many thanks”

Lucy Waterhouse, Head of School, Haymoor Junior School, Teach Poole Trust

“Beryl is very knowledgeable and communicates really well. She has endless patience. We booked her for two sessions; one on Facebook and the other on Instagram. She was very well prepared and had taken into account what we actually needed for our business. Each session was focused but with sufficient time for us to understand, ask questions and have a go. As a consequence, we feel that we are ready to move forward with our social media on both platforms. Beryl even took time to look at the progress we had made between the two sessions and gave us valuable feedback. I would not hesitate to recommend her and will definitely be contacting her again in the future.”

Claire May, Head Teacher, Longwood School and Nursery, Bushey

“Excellent training on using Social Media for Schools. Beryl offered real insight into the process from setting up to posting and analysing engagement. Thorough and in depth and able to target support to each person on the meeting. Highly recommended.”

Simon Downes, Deputy Head Teacher, Bradshaw Hall Primary School

“Thank you Beryl! This course was very Informative and interactive. It was extremely helpful to go through each step together, highly recommend.”

Georgia Carey, St Margaret's School Hampstead
